LRSD Walks with Pride

LRSD students, staff, and family members walked in the 2025 Winnipeg Pride parade, joining over 10,000 people participating, another record-breaking attendance.

The LRSD group proudly followed behind a familiar sight—a school bus adorned with a rainbow-themed banner and decorated with vibrant, student-made posters that showcased messages of love, inclusion, and support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Adding energy and excitement to the day was the largest pep band we’ve had to date with 70 students, featuring musicians from across the division, which kept the crowd grooving with upbeat renditions of "YMCA" and "Hot to Go." The music, accompanied by cheers and chants from the LRSD group, sparked smiles and applause from parade-goers lining the route.

Participating in Winnipeg Pride is one of the many ways LRSD celebrates diversity and promotes belonging, reinforcing that everyone has the right to be seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are.

Thank you to everyone who marched, danced, played, and cheered as part of the LRSD contingent at Pride 2025. Your presence mattered—and it made a difference.
